What is the lyrical interpretation?

Really Rather Swell opens with devastating understatement: a father’s heart explodes while the children are still small, and the news lands in a hallway with a quivering mother. The refrain Well, shit. What do we do about this? Look at my sister turns toward the only steady person in the frame. Later trauma — snatched from a bar, clinical violation rendered as nightmare — is carried on the shoulders alongside that early loss. The close is generational: fading faster than friendship, another man raising his son, and the quiet recognition that this may be what his father thought about when his heart gave out.

What are the main themes?

Sudden paternal death and childhood grief; the sister as emotional anchor; institutional trauma and violation; burden and resilience; fading identity; legacy and fatherhood; understatement as survival (“really rather swell”). Part of the Grief Eater cycle.
