Maine-born singer-songwriter — guitar upside down and backwards, a decade on southeastern stages.

Jon Bailey musician headshot - folk singer-songwriter from Saint Augustine, Florida

Jon Bailey is a singer/songwriter from Maine, writing songs since age fourteen. He plays his guitar upside down and backwards - and somehow makes it feel like the only way music was ever meant to be played.

After moving south, he spent a decade of consistent gigging and live performance across the southeastern United States - from living rooms to festivals, Colonial Quarter stages to community recordings. He released his inaugural album, lowercase i (2018), and earned a #1 local ranking on ReverbNation's alternative charts in Saint Augustine. His powerful vocals and raw connection with the crowd leave a mark that doesn't fade.

Beyond the solo work, Jon contributed original songs to Local Honey - a Saint Augustine community album and documentary - and Tales from the Ancient City, a compilation for the city's 450th commemoration. He recorded lowercase i with Lucio Rubino at The Fish Tank Recordings and remains active in the Northeast Florida songwriter scene. Press and tourism profiles list him on Visit St. Augustine's official musician directory.

Questions

Who Is Jon Bailey?

Quick answers for fans, booking, and anyone trying to find the musician - not the voice actor.

Jon Bailey is an alternative folk singer-songwriter based in Saint Augustine, Florida, originally from Maine. He plays guitar upside down and backwards. His inaugural album is lowercase i (2018); his next album is Grief Eater (in progress). Official merch — Grief Eater demo-track cover art on hoodies, tees, hats, mugs, and totes — ships worldwide at jon-bailey-shop.fourthwall.com.

Is this Jon Bailey the Epic Voice Guy?

No - I'm the folk singer-songwriter from Saint Augustine, not the voice actor.

Is this Jonathan Bailey the actor — and “Sexiest Man Alive”?

No on both counts. I'm Jon Bailey the musician from Saint Augustine; he's Jonathan Bailey on screens and magazine lists. We share a name the way two hats share a hook — only one of us belongs on it at a time, and I'm usually upside down holding a guitar. If People magazine calls, tell them I'm flattered, unavailable, and statistically more likely to be confused with the voice actor.

What does “lowercase i” mean?

The title is a metaphor for self-doubt. When we write about ourselves, we capitalize I - a small grammar that says this person matters. A lowercase i inverts that: the self made quiet, uncertain, almost hidden. It also reads like a little stick figure - humble, human, a silhouette still standing. The album wears that honesty on its sleeve.

Where can I hear Jon Bailey's music?

Inaugural album lowercase i is on Spotify, Apple Music, ReverbNation, and YouTube. Free-stream five Grief Eater demos from the cover-card tracklist at jonbailey.xyz/grief-eater: Crash into Nowhere (track 4), Took Me For a Ride Inside (track 5), Hard Stone Carver (track 6, ft. cellist Sam Shin), Hello, I Yell (track 9), and Really Rather Swell (track 11) — free stream + lyrics (and music videos where linked on each page). You can also play lowercase i embedded on this page.

What albums has Jon Bailey released?

One inaugural studio album: lowercase i (2018, eight songs). Appearances on community compilations Local Honey and Tales from the Ancient City. Upcoming album: Grief Eater (twelve songs) — six free demos live (tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11) on the cover-card tracklist at /grief-eater.
